The national retail program ‘A better choice!’ carries out two national promotions a year with the goal to have more Aussies shop at their local fruit and veg shop.

In October we launched ‘The Local Youth Sports Initiative”, which saw fruit and veg shops of Australian banded together under ‘A BetterChoice!’ give out sponsorships to youth sporting teams, clubs and individual athletes that needed some much-needed help. The humble fruit and veg shops of Australia have always supported their communities but don’t always get the credit they deserve. This campaign promoted the connection our member stores have with their community and highlighted this messaging to over 9.5 million consumers across the country.

Three powerhouse Australian women represented the Local Youth Sports Initiative: An Olympian, A Chef and World Champion Netball Player! Mariafe Artacho del Solar is an Australian Beach Volleyball player and a medal winner at the 2021 Tokoyo Olympics! Laura Sharrad was Runner-up for Australian Masterchef, a restaurant owner and TV personality! Natalie von Bertouch has made 76 senior appearances for the Australian Diamonds and won gold twice at the World Championships! 

We had advertisements around the nation on radio, Youtube, newspapers, Facebook, Instagram and podcasts.

We reached over

9.5 million people nationwide

with over

27 million impressions. 

We were recognised by news channels and were on national television (Studio 10), as well as 7 News in Sydney and Perth.

We received hundreds of entries and a total of 45 sponsorships and 135 runners up awards were given out to youth sporting clubs, teams & individuals from their local fruit veg shops united under ‘A better choice!’.
