About the competition: Shop and Win 2026

Go in the draw to win a prize each week, as well as a grand prize. Simply head into a participating local fruit and veg shop, purchase any fruit and/or vegetables, scan the QR code in-store and upload your receipt.

One entry per receipt that has a fruit and/or vegetable purchase. Each entry is valid for the whole duration of the competition, so get in early for more chances to WIN!

This competition is only open to residents of Victoria, New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia. Terms and conditions can be found below:

  1. This competition is conducted by The Australian Chamber Of Fruit And Vegetable Industries Limited program ‘A better choice!’ ABN 67 065 246 808 of Store 23, Melbourne Markets, 53 Produce Dr, Epping 3076 VIC (Promoter).
  2. Entry to the Promotion constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
  3. All entry instructions and prize information published by the Promoter form part of these Terms and Conditions.
  4. The Promotion is open to all Victoria, Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australian, and Western Australian residents aged 18 years or over. The Promoter reserves the right to request any entrant to provide documentary evidence confirming their age and to disqualify any entrant who is unable or unwilling to provide such proof of age upon request. Employees and their immediate families of the Promoter and their agents are not eligible to enter the Promotion.
  5. The Promotion commences at 12:01am AEST on 15 APRIL 2026, and ends at 11:59pm AEST on 27 MAY 2026 (Promotion Period).
  1. Proof of purchase must be dated within the same period of the promotion, and include any fruit and/or vegetables.
  2. The Promotion is a game of chance, and skill plays no part in determining the winner. Each valid entry will be entered into the relevant draw pool and selected at random. The Promoter may conduct draws from all valid entries or from a subset of eligible entries, where required to give effect to the prize structure, state allocations, store eligibility rules, or other conditions outlined in these Terms and Conditions.
  3. To enter, an entrant must, during the Promotion Period, visit this link which can be found online or instore, and:

(a)  Input the requested information (as per ID)

(b) Upload the amount of purchase and a proof of purchase in the form of a receipt.

  1. Any entry which:

(a)  is received outside the Promotion Period or which fails to meet the requirements of clause 8;

(b)  does not fully comply with these Terms and Conditions; and/or

(c)  is incomplete, or otherwise unlawful,

is not a valid entry and will not be eligible to win the Prize.

  1. The Promoter will review the response provided by each Entrant to the Competition Criteria to ensure the response is comprehensible and does not violate these Terms and Conditions. Any response that is incomprehensible, obscene, defamatory, threatening, or unlawful may be disqualified, at the sole discretion of the Promoter. Entrants who submit an entry that is compliant with these terms will be entered into a draw, with the winner selected based on chance from a list of all eligible entries by the Promoter (Prize Winner).
  2. Entries are only valid once per receipt.

(a) Entrants may enter multiple times with new receipts.

(b) Multiple Entrants cannot use the same receipt.

  1. The Promoter’s decision in relation to any aspect of the Promotion is final and will be binding on every person who enters the Promotion. No correspondence will be entered into in relation to any aspect of the Promotion.
  2. The weekly prize draws will take place weekly during the Promotional Period, on Thursdays.
    A separate grand prize draw will occur after the conclusion of the Promotion Period.

(a) Draws will be announced on a Friday via Facebook & Instagram.

(b) The first draw will be announced by the 1st of May

(c) The second draw will be announced by the 8th of May

(d) The third draw will be announced by the 15th of May

(e) The fourth draw will be announced by the 22nd of May

(f) The fifth draw will be announced by the 29th of May

(g) The sixth draw will be announced by the 5th of June

(h) The grand prize draw will be announced by the 10th of July

  1. The Prize Winners will be notified by the Promoter by email and mobile telephone within 24 hours of the draw, using the contact details supplied at the time of entry in the Promotion.
  2. If a Prize Winner is unable to be contacted, or, upon being contacted and notified of their prize, rejects the prize for whatever reason, or does not claim their prize in accordance with the notification or other instructions issued by the Promoter within 7 days of being notified by the Promoter, their Prize will be forfeited and an alternative winner will be drawn as per the unclaimed prize draw clause below.
  3. Where the Prize is unclaimed or forfeited, the Promoter will hold an unclaimed prize draw to select an alternate Prize Winner based on the same methodology as for the selection of the original Prize Winner.
  4. Weekly Prize Draw Structure

There are five (5) geographic prize areas eligible for weekly state-based prizes:

(a) Victoria
(b) New South Wales / Australian Capital Territory
(c) Queensland
(d) South Australia
(e) Western Australia

Each week, the following prizes will be awarded via draw:

(a) Two (2) prize winners per state will be drawn, each receiving a $100 voucher to be spent at the independent retailer store where the qualifying purchase was made.

(b) Two (2) national prize winners will be drawn, each receiving a $250 voucher to be spent at the independent retailer store where the qualifying purchase was made.

(c) Weekly prizes may only be awarded once per participating store during the Promotion Period. Once a store has produced a winning entry for a weekly prize, that store will not be eligible for another weekly prize for the remainder of the Promotion Period. Participating stores may, at their own discretion, choose to provide additional prizes or vouchers independently. Any such prizes are not part of this National Promotion and are the sole responsibility of the participating store.

(d) For the two (2) national weekly prizes, winners must be drawn from two different states within the same weekly draw. Two national prizes cannot both be drawn from entrants residing in the same state within a single weekly draw.

(e) The Promoter reserves the right to conduct a redraw if a selected entry would result in a breach of the conditions outlined in clauses (c) or (d).

  1. Grand Prize

(a) After the Promotion Period, five (5) grand prize winners will be drawn, with one (1) winner from each of the following states:

  • Victoria
  • New South Wales / Australian Capital Territory
  • Queensland
  • South Australia
  • Western Australia

(b) Each grand prize winner will receive a $1,000 voucher to be spent at the independent fruit and vegetable retailer where the winning entry was made.

(c) The grand prize draw will be conducted from the pool of valid entries associated with the store that wins first place in that state for the ‘A better choice!’ Retailer of the Year – People’s Choice award.

(d) If a store that is declared the winner of the ‘A better choice!’ Retailer of the Year – People’s Choice is later found to be ineligible, disqualified, or otherwise unable to accept the award, the Promoter reserves the right to conduct the grand prize draw from entries associated with the next eligible ranked store in that state.

(e) If the ‘A better choice!’ Retailer of the Year – People’s Choice is cancelled, altered, or delayed for any reason, the Promoter reserves the right to amend the grand prize draw mechanics accordingly.

  1. The total national prize pool equates to $14,000

(a) The total prize pool in ACT/NSW equates up to $3,700

(b) The total prize pool in Victoria equates up to $3,700

(c) The total prize pool in Queensland equates up to $3,700

(d) The total prize pool in Western Australia equates up to $3,700

(e) The total prize pool in South Australia equates up to $3,700

  1. Prize Conditions

(a) All vouchers must be redeemed at the independent fruit and vegetable retailer associated with the winning entry.

(b) Voucher redemption conditions, including expiry dates or usage restrictions, are determined by the independent retailer issuing the voucher.

(c) Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for cash.

  1. The Prize will be provided to the Prize Winner within 60 days of the promotional period concluding or unclaimed prize draw (as the case may be), by collecting it from their independent retailer or such other method notified to the Prize Winner.
  2. Winners can collect their Prizes from the Independent Retailer where the qualifying purchase was made by presenting their receipt of purchase and a valid form of identification, which may be required to verify that the Prize is being collected by the entrant whose details were submitted with the winning entry.
  3. If a drawn entry is deemed ineligible or would result in a breach of the prize allocation rules outlined in these Terms and Conditions, the Promoter reserves the right to conduct a redraw.
  4. The Prize Winner consents to the Promoter using and/or publishing the Prize Winner’s name, state, associated store, and/or image, and/or quoting the Prize Winner’s entry or any other statements, including for promotional purposes, in any form of media (including on social media).  The Prize Winner and their nominated store may be photographed and/or filmed during their use or enjoyment of the Prize, and it is a condition of acceptance of the Prize that the Prize Winner and their guest consent to any use, publication or broadcast of such photographs or video.
  5. Subject to any applicable law, regulation or permit condition, if for any reason beyond the control of the Promoter this Promotion is not capable of running as planned, including for any reason which affects the administration, security, fairness or integrity of the Promotion, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion, (subject to any direction given by relevant regulatory authority), to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Promotion.
  6. The personal information you provide in connection with the Promotion will be collected, stored and used in accordance with these Terms and Conditions and the Promoter’s Privacy Policy, located at this link. By entering the Promotion all entrants agree to the use and disclosure of their personal information to third parties as specified in these Terms and Conditions and the Promoter’s Privacy Policy. Where an entrant provides the personal information of any third party in connection with the Promotion, the entrant warrants that the Promoter’s use of that personal information will not breach the Privacy Act or any other law.
  7. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits, excludes or modifies or purports to limit, exclude or modify any statutory consumer guarantees or any guarantee or implied condition or warranty the exclusion of which from these Terms and Conditions would contravene any statute or cause any part of these Terms and Conditions to be void (Non-Excludable Guarantees). The Promoter excludes from these Terms and Conditions all guarantees, conditions, warranties and terms implied by statute, general law or custom. Except for liability in relation to a Non-Excludable Guarantee, the Promoter (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability whether arising in tort (including without limitation negligence), contract or otherwise for any personal injury or any other loss or damage whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Promotion, including, without limitation, the following: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction; (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or Prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter); (d) any variation in Prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; (e) any tax implications; and/or (f) a Prize or use of a Prize by a Prize Winner.
  8. These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between the Promoter. If any part of these Terms and Conditions are held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of law, it will be severed and will not affect the remainder, which will continue in full force and effect.
  9. A better choice! retains the right to amend, update, or withdraw these Terms and Conditions at any

stage during the competition without prior notice, provided such amendments do not materially

disadvantage entrants.
