Retailer Profile – Geraldton Fruit and Vegetable Supply
Geraldton Fruit and Vegetable Supply have now been operating for over 50 years. Original owners Joe and Mario Priolo started the venture by selling locally grown fruit and vegetables from the back of a horse and cart; soon they graduated to a shed, and not long after, they bought what is now the Gregory Street store.
Today, Mr and Mrs Priolo’s son Charlie Priolo is carrying on what his parents started. He owns the Gregory Street store with the help of his sister and retail manager Mena Priolo.
While Geraldton Fruit and Veg primarily try to support local growers, their truck, carrying only the freshest produce from the Canning Vale Markets, delivers to the store three times a week.
Geraldton Fruit and Veg pride themselves not only on the highest quality produce at the best price, but also have a wonderful team of highly trained staff, whose extensive knowledge on the produce they sell, provides for excellent customer service and a pleasant shopping experience. “Our staff work terribly hard, we’re so lucky to have them because if it wasn’t for them, we wouldn’t be as successful as we are,” Mena says.
The store has won multiple awards in recent years, including being named the WA Regional Fresh Produce Retailers of the Year for the fourth time at the 2017 Market City Retailer of the Year Awards.
“We’re always conscious of keeping it fresh and supplying the best, Mum and Dad have always taught us that you need to offer a good product at a good price and fantastic service,” Mena says.
The store continually tries to support the community by giving back to their customers. Regularly called upon for sponsorship, Geraldton Fruit and Vegetable Supply proudly supports a number of local functions and events. Their friendly staff looks forward to seeing you in-store.
