Napoli Mercato is a marketplace full of quality produce and specialty items including cheeses, prosciutto and smallgoods from Australia and across the globe, as well as an extensive range of fruit and vegetables. Each product is carefully selected by our passionate team, and is an expression of our love of good food. Our store also featured an espresso bar, serving great coffee and traditional Italian biscuits and gelato. The Napoli Mercato story began from humble beginnings in Calabria, Italy. Serafino Napoli (Sam) migrated from Calabria to Perth in 1962. After marrying his childhood sweetheart, Sam joined her family the Guadagnino’s in the Fruit growing industry in Manjimup. The family started Alf’s Continental Store selling delicious produce and Italian groceries to the local community. 50 years later, The Guadagnino Family still have their farm in Manjimup, where all their cherries, nectarines, peaches, apples, pears, avocados and much more, come fresh straight from the farm to the Napoli Mercato store in Harrisdale. Sam moved with his family to Perth in 1990, they settled in Canning Vale and in 1992 started their new venture as a couple with a young family, Balcatta Growers Fresh, in Balcatta. With over 50 years’ experience in the industry and 20 years later, Balcatta Growers Fresh stands as a much loved and celebrated local gem. Working closely with Sam on the launch of Napoli Mercato, his children were raised within the loving walls of their grocery store and farm. Here they learnt the importance of customer service and that friendly smile each day. “We are passionate about quality & service we hold strong family values. We are the 3rd generation to continue the tradition of providing quality & good old fashion service” says Louie Napoli.
