Rode Fresh is more than just a fruit and vegetable shop. Proudly run by Akshay Kumar and his partner, in Stafford Heights on Brisbane’s Northside, Rode Fresh bring their love for fresh, high-quality produce to the community. The son of a Sugarcane farmer in Regional India, Akshay grew up surrounded by the sights and scents of the farm. From a young age, he was hands-on in the family business, gaining an appreciation for the produce industry.
Arriving in Australia in 2015, his first job was at the Brisbane Markets as a fruit picker, which evolved into the position as a chef at a local restaurant, where he expanded his knowledge of herbs, seasonal ingredients, and how to create dishes that celebrate the flavours of fresh produce. More importantly, he honed his customer service skills, connecting with people and understanding their needs.
