Rival apricots have orange skin with a deep blush. They are mild and slightly tart in flavour with low acidity. Rival apricots are great for bottling, jams and make a great pre-workout drink or snack. Rival apricots are typically in season in summer from December to January.

Rival apricots are an excellent source of vitamins A (beta-carotene) and C. Just one cup of apricots provides 60% of your daily Vitamin A needs. 100g of rival apricots contains the following:

  • Vitamin A – 38% of DV
  • Vitamin C – 16% of DV
  • Vitamin B-6 – 5% of DV
  • Calcium – 1% of DV
  • Iron – 2% of DV
  • Magnesium – 2% of DV

Selecting tips

  • Pick rival apricots with a little give when pressed gently.
  • It should smell sweet and ripe.
  • Rival apricots with dents and spots taste as good as blemish-free apricots.

Storage tips

  • Rival Apricots should be stored at room temperature.
  • When ripe, store apricots in the refrigerator in a sealed bag, for up to two days.
