Recipe provided by Hort Innovation – Australian Papaya

A few minutes on the grill is all it takes to bring out papaya’s natural sweetness and caramelised edges. Add your favourite toppings and it’s ready in minutes, perfect for a fresh start to the day.

Method

  1. Scoop out some of the papaya flesh and cut into cubes and set aside.
  2. Lightly spray the cut sides of the papaya with oil to prevent sticking.
  3. Place cut-side down on a grill pan or barbecue over medium-high heat and cook for 2 minutes, or until lightly caramelised. Turn over and cook for a further 2–4 minutes.
  4. Serve with your favourite yoghurt and toppings: cherries, blackberries, granola clusters and the extra pieces of papaya.
