Capsicums can be found in any kitchen because of its versatility; they can be stir fried, stewed, stuffed, roasted, or barbecued. Though capsicums are commonly red, green, or yellow in colour, they can also come in white, orange, brown, and purple varieties. Red capsicums are the sweetest, while green capsicums are the least sweet.

Selecting tips

  • Choose capsicums that are deeply coloured, glossy, and firm
  • Capsicums with the straightest sides will be the easiest to peel
  • Avoid capsicums that are wrinkled, have dull skin, and have soft spots or blemishes
