Are the kids sick of eating the same boring sandwich? Or perhaps you have become bored of making the same thing for lunch’s day in day out. Mix it up with our tuna salad pockets!

The great thing about these pita pockets is they really are so versatile! Kids don’t like tuna? That’s ok, mix it up with a little diced cooked chicken or diced ham. If the kids have a favourite vegetable, use it in the salad mix. Work to your child’s palate, this will make healthy lunches like this become fun and exciting and take out any stress in getting them to eat well. Simply focus on including a serve of protein (such as lean meats, cheese or eggs) for their growing little bodies and a serve or two of their favourite vegetables. There is no need to make healthy eating too complicated or stressful.

Method

  1. In a bowl combine the tuna, mayonnaise, spring onion, celery, cucumber and dill.
  2. Cut the pita bread in half to make 4 pita pockets.
  3. Fill pitas with the tuna salad, and fresh butterhead lettuce leaves.
