Rosemary is a member of the mint family along with thyme, oregano and basil. Rosemary resembles lavender as its leaves look like flat pine needles touched with silver. Rosemary pairs well with rosemary chicken, lamb and vegetable soups and gives them a bright flavour. Rosemary is available and in season all year round.

Health Benefits

Rosemary enhances memory and concentration and improves digestion. It is also an excellent source of potassium, which helps control heart rate and blood pressure. 100g of rosemary yields the following:

  • Vitamin A – 58% of DV
  • Vitamin C – 36% of DV
  • Vitamin B6 – 17% of DV
  • Potassium – 19% of DV
