This versatile fruit is a great option for cooler months to keep your body going throughout the day, and they are one of our favourites to add to our daily breakfast or baked goods! We can’t go past classic Fluffy Banana Pancakes with Pecans for a scrumptious Sunday breakfast! Bananas are a great source of Potassium and Vitamin C, so head to your local Fruit and Veg shop and pick some up this week!
Citrus season is underway, with an excellent supply of Imperial Mandarins, which are sweet, juicy and are an excellent source of Vitamin C to help boost your immune system as we head into flu season! Mandarins are excellent mixed through salads for a hit of sweet citrus. Play around with Mandarins in your weekly meals and try out these Mandarin and Chicken Rice Paper Rolls! Pomelo is also available now. Closely related to Grapefruit, Pomelo is the largest citrus fruit. They taste similar to grapefruit, with a tangy, sweet and bitter taste. Pomelo can be eaten alone, added to fruit salads or made into a jam.
Keep an eye out for Guava this week! Guava is nutrient-packed with more Vitamin C than an Orange, as well as antioxidants that a beneficial for skin health. Guava has a strong, sweet fragrance, with texture similar to Pear. Look for fruit that is heavy, with blemish-free skin that yields to pressure.

It’s good news for Feijoa fans this week! Feijoa is a unique fruit and it’s always a special time when they’re back in season! This little green fruit has an interesting texture, with a pear-like flesh with soft, jelly-like seeds in the middle. Feijoas are best eaten fresh, but can also be made into jams or baked into breads or pastries. Pick some up this week at your Local Fruit and Veg shop!
Other seasonal fruits you will find this week in good supply are Papaya, Persimmon and Pomegranate. There is also great supply of Kiwifruit in both green and gold varieties, as well as plenty of crunchy new-season Apples perfect for the lunchbox this week!
As we come into the cooler end of Autumn, we’re leaning into roasts and soups! Onions are a staple all year long, but one of the best ways to use this veg when it’s cold is to make a delicious Baked Onion Soup! This one packs in a lot of flavour and is simple to make when you’d rather curl up on the couch!
Pumpkin and Sweet Potatoes are in excellent supply and quality this week. Roast dinners make for a no-fuss dinner.
